Holy Sith!
Oh no, you dint! Yes, I did!Me and J went to the 12:01 showing of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith last night/this morning. What a scene! I didn't anticipate that we had so many geeks in our little surfer beach town. Everyone all dressed up and light-saber fighting in line. We decided at 9:00 p.m. to go see if there were tickets, and what do you know! There were. We got 2 and I jammed back home to get out of pajamas and into jeans while J held our place in line.
We were seated in one of the three theaters at 10:30 p.m. and the crowd was unruly but harmless. One drunk guy was ejected 2/3 of the way through the movie and fell flat on his face when he was getting up. That was actually the worst thing that happened.
The movie? I loved it. You have to see it. I'll definitely be going again soon with the rest of the Q-clan. It's not for little kids but for everyone else, a must see. Two thumbs way up.
Now, let's just hope the force is with me today as I fight the dark side of sleep. I'm running on about 2 hours right now. I'll be a miserable, whiny baby by about 3 o'clock this afternoon. But it was an experience all the way around and I'm so glad I got to share it with my boy! And my geek credentials were just elevated a notch. Yay, me. Nerdette Extraordinaire!

Bravo, Q! I was among the dork crowd myself. I stood in line starting at 7:30. I'm pretty pathetic! I must agree with you, though; the movie was amazing. Opening night was truly an event to behold.

Not for kids huh? My 9 year old son has been talking about nothing else for months. Is it worse than the previous 2 episodes?

I would like to amend my previous statement a little. If your kids normally watch PG-13 rated movies, I would say it's not worse than, and probably a little better than, most.
Episode III is more violent (in my opinion) and much darker than the last two episodes. I found a couple of scenes a little hard to watch but a kid will probably either not fully get it or they will think it's kind of cool. E-mail me if you want to know exactly what I am talking about.
So, under 5, I'd say no way. We have a very articulate 6 year old that will be seeing it. It's all about talking to your kids about the images they see on the screen and helping them make sense of anything.

I'm going tomorrow night!!! Can't wait - am wearing my hair in classic side burns. A co-worker of mine put it this way: it's not so much about seeing the film (well, it kind of is for me, geek that I am), it's about remembering the seventies.
Love your blog

I'm telling you, the geek watching would be worth it alone.
I haven't braved the queues yet, but I will see the film. Oh yes. I will.
